Loon Rapids Lodge is pleased to announce the opening of our White Water Sports Rentals. In addition to our exquisite lodging, we have added a boathouse and a large inventory of recreational equipment to our rental offerings. Our guests can experience all the excitement that the Oconto River has to offer, creating an enjoyable and memorable vacation.
Please note* Any and all rentals of equipment, items, etc are limited to those clients renting from Loon Rapids Lodge. No equipment, items, etc shall be rented to a party that is not currently renting from Loon Rapids Lodge.
Choose your own adventure as you tackle class 1 and class 2 rapids on a kayak, stand up paddle board, or tube. All of our equipment is designed with white water capability in mind. Each kayak, stand up paddle board, and tube rental includes a life vest, helmet, and paddle. From the Loon Rapids dock, you will find a set of rapids easily within walking and riding distance. This is an attractive and convenient option for individuals renting tubes or trying their luck on a stand up paddle board. For the more adventurous, there is an option to rent a trailer to bring your equipment further up river. Continue scrolling through our white water sports page to see a map with our suggested location to put-in.
The paddles closest to the cabin indicate the rapids within walking distance from the Loon Rapids Dock. The paddles at the top of the map indicate where National Forest Road 2319 crosses the river. At that bridge you will find access to bring the trailer with your equipment.
Keep in mind that once you return to the dock, you are still responsible for returning the trailer back to the Loon Rapids boathouse within your rental time period or be subject to additional fees.
Rentals are booked directly from this page. Please use the icons below to select the products and dates desired for your river adventure. Next, you will be asked to create an account to continue your booking. You will receive a confirmation email verifying the date, equipment rented, and payment details.
On the morning of your reservation, you will receive a text from our property manager, Gary Heise. Gary will send an electronic lock box code to unlock your equipment from the racking and boathouse. The equipment is yours to enjoy until 4pm. The electronic lock boxes will keep a record of time unlocked at pick up and time returned.
